Replication index
A collection of images that aims to replicate various components of the hallucinogenic experience as accurately as possible. These images do not convey the whole psychedelic experience, but one aspect of the experience. These images are created by using image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Corel Paint Shop Pro X.

Hallucinogenic replication is defined by Psychonaut Wiki as the artistic science of intentionally or unintentionally recreating the specific subjective visual effects which are consistently experienced under the influence of hallucinogens through the creation of images, video and audio. This serves the useful purpose of formally documenting experiences in a level of detail which descriptive language and written analysis could not possibly come close to by itself.
It is here on this page that these image examples will be organized and hosted.
The first category of visual effects can be classified as an overall enhancement of vision. This is consistently reported at the lowest levels of psychedelic experience. It can be generally defined as an overall increase in the level of visual input, attributed to the external environment that a person experiences, and is manifested through 3 separate sub-components.

The second category of visual effects found within a psychedelic experience is known as a distortion or a visual alteration. These can be generally described as changes in perception attributed to the external environment that are always obviously grounded in reality. These effects are manifested through 6 separate subcomponents.
