2C-T-x is a sub set of the 2C-x series. Alexander Shulgin has discovered over 30 2C-T-x compounds.[1]

The general structure for a 2C-T-x compound

In contrast to other members of the 2C-x family, 2C-T-7 has gained a reputation of being an unpredictable, dose-sensitive psychedelic capable of producing strong visual effects and an intense body load, which can manifest as a dangerous delirium in extreme cases. Many reports indicate that the physical effects are too severe for inexperienced users or those with pre-existing medical conditions.

2C-T-2 and 2C-T-7 are part of the so-called "magical half-dozen" which refers to Shulgin's self-rated most important phenethylamine compounds, all of which -- with the exception of mescaline -- he designed, synthesized and tested on himself. They can be found within the first book of PiHKAL, and are as follows: Mescaline, DOM, 2C-B, 2C-E, 2C-T-2 and 2C-T-7.[2]

List of 2C-x compunds

Compound R4 Structure
2C-T SCH3
2C-T-2 SCH2CH3
2C-T-4 SCH(CH3)2
2C-T-7 SCH2CH2CH3
2C-T-21 SCH2CH2

Health effects, potential addiction and tolerance

The 2C-x chemicals, as with many other serotonergic psychedelics, should not be taken in combination with SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake Inhibitor) or tricyclic antidepressants in general to avoid Serotonin Syndrome, a potentially life-threatening condition in which an abundance of serotonin is built up the body, causing many physical and cognitive health problems.
