Effects/Content
This subjective effects index is designed to serve as a comprehensive map of the subjective effects that are produced by psychoactive substances as well as other techniques used in psychonautics.
The effects identified here are accompanied by detailed descriptions of how it feels to experience them. They have been written in a formalized and standardized writing style based on phenomenological observation in such a way as to avoid reliance on metaphor or analogy. The terms and descriptions strive to use language that is as simple and understandable as possible. This has been done in the hope that these breakdowns will eventually function as a universal terminology set that enables people to fully describe and share their subjective experiences.
The effects are separated into over 200 components which are organized into categories based on which sense they affect and their behavior. Many of these are further broken down into leveling systems, subcomponents, and style variations that can occur across different substances. Detailed replications in the form of image and video examples have been included wherever possible to supplement the text descriptions.
The content within this index is based on the collective experiences of our contributors.
