I was watching a woman in a room high up within a modern glass sky scraper. The floor was blue laminate, the room was huge and open plan with large windows which allowed me to see the city around us. I got the sense that I was in london.
The lady had a machine which she claimed could take us "outside of time". All I could see of this was a large lever attached to the floor. She activated the lever and things instantly began to speed up outside of the building as if they were on an extreme fast forward. I saw the buildings and people become increasingly dilapidated. There was no progress or advancement and nothing new was being built. Instead the city around us fell into decay and ruin. I watched as decaying bodies and skeletons built up across the once colourful but now grey, dusty and death ridden landscape.
The final scene was of the city in a complete state of ruin. There were no buildings left which could be walked through or lived in. Instead there were merely fallen iron frames and rubble. There were now a several inhuman black corkscrew spires dotted across the landscape. These structures reached further into the sky than any human building previously in place. Large sections of the ground were covered in an organic web of unknown origins.
Throughout this entire experience the skyscraper we were in remained completely intact as it had stepped outside of time. I got the sense that the events I had just witnessed happened within a few decades as opposed to a few centuries and felt that this was a sign of the coming apocalypse.
