Kratom inhibits multiple enzymes such as CYP2D6, CYP3A4, and CYP1A2. Some anticoagulant and blood thinner medications, Rivaroxaban for example, rely on the CYP3A4 enzyme as a major metabolic pathway. Those on these medications who are considering taking kratom should be aware of this and I believe blood thinner / anticoagulants should be added to the list of interactions. I'm not sure if this edit qualifies as a dangerous interaction, and it certainly is not for all opiates so how would this edit be made to be specific to kratom. What does the community think?
Kratom inhibits multiple CYP450 enzymes such as CYP2D6, CYP3A4, and CYP1A2. This has the potential to lead to clinically significant interactions with prescription medication.
