Once you have your powdered mushrooms ready you want to measure out 10ml ethanol for every gram of mushroom powder. If you have 100 grams of mushroom you will would want 1L of ethanol.

(Optional) To save wasting alcohol with can use a [[soxhlet extractor]] set on a very low heat, you would only need 1/3 (maybe less) of the amount of alcohol you would need if you weren't to use one.

If you aren't using a soxhlet extractor then go ahead and drop all of your mushroom powder into a glass jar then add your measured out ethanol on top. Put the lid on and shake the jar like your life depends on it. After a couple of minutes shaking the jar place it somewhere dark and cool. Shake the jar 2 times a day for about a week.
