Dosage independent intensity
Dosage independent intensity can be described as the very inconsistent but not uncommon occurrence of spontaneously traversing to higher levels of the psychedelic experience regardless of the dosage taken.
For example, a user may ingest a threshold dosage but spontaneously experience high intensity effects such as moderate to overwhelming geometry, distortions, hallucinatory states, existential self-realization, feelings of eternalism, exposure to inner mechanics of consciousness, spirituality enhancement and even ego death.
This experience can often feel like a complete transgression of normal pharmacology and may even include audible voices explaining to the user why it has seemingly decided to intensify the trip. It often takes the user by surprise and usually occurs during the peak of the trip. Individuals who experience this effect often describe it as being very profound and boundary dissolving partially due to its often unexpected and spontaneous nature.
Dosage independent intensity is more common with orally active tryptamines such as psilocin, ayahuasca and 4-AcO-DMT and not typically observed in LSD or mescaline experiences or with other common psychedelics. However, it is still extremely uncommon and usually seems to happen to users who are somewhat experienced with the substance being ingested.
